The Course
The combination of significant length and high altitude defines La Pradera de Potosí. The 7,716-yard scorecard would be a tour-level test at sea level; at ~2,800 m the apparent length is offset by the 10–15% distance boost altitude provides, but the dramatic Andean topography compensates with elevation changes, downhill drives, and uphill approach shots.
How It Plays
La Calera’s Andean setting introduces variables most Sabana courses do not have — the routing climbs and descends through mountainside terrain, and several holes feature significant elevation drops or climbs between tee and green. Distance gauging becomes harder than on a flat Sabana layout. Cool temperatures and intense UV are standard.
Location & Access
La Pradera de Potosí is in La Calera, east of Bogotá on the road to Choachí, within the same La Calera cluster as Club de Golf La Cima. The drive from central Bogotá is roughly 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. The course is private; visiting play requires reciprocal arrangements, IAGTO-affiliated operators, or tournament events.
